What are our values and what do they mean to us

Culture

We honour and respect our Wattandee culture and heritage in everything we do.

We pay respects to our ancestor and acknowledge the continuous transfer of cultural knowledge to our people.

We also like it to be known that our sovereignty has never been ceded and our people walk in two world

Community

We recognise and respect the cultural and spiritual needs of our people, and the importance of supporting each other through cultural healing.

Caring for country

We are committed to caring for the country of our Elders and Ancestors who lived on Wattandee country to show our respect for them and to preserve protect and promote the place for future generations.

Partnerships

We understand the value of collaboration with individuals and community, government and non-government organisations to achieve positive changes for our whole Wattandee community and country.

In 2019 when the Shire of Mingenew supported the former Littlewell Working Group to develop and open the former Littlewell Aboriginal Reserve as a Wattandee heritage site.

This has enabled us to use the land as a social, cultural and spiritual meeting place for Wattandee people.

We have established some infrastructure on the land, including 12 pergolas and a heritage trail with educational signage, and a yarning circle to host community events, practise culture education and cultural dancing

Wattandee Littlewell Aboriginal Corporations host a range of cultural programs and cultural events to support a greater cultural connection and spiritual understanding  of the significance of Wattandee country to Wattandee people.
